2009 into 2010

Well I cant let the year finish without some small 'blog'.

What an incredible year it's been, I've travelled overseas 4 times this year:
  • A flight from Townsville, to Brisbane, to Auckland to Los Angeles (& back!) "for the Weekend" in January !
  • An amazing trip to Acapulco, Mexico in March. I shared some absolutely fabulous moments with very special friends, had the BEST birthday there as well. Great shopping, and loads of laughs all the way.
  • A beautiful & memorable trip to the Island of Oahu & the Big Island of Hawaii in July - wow, such a spectacular trip - special people, incredible speakers at the conference we attended, a helicopter flight over the volcanoes, and a very special one-on-one dolphin encounter - so many magical memories!
  • And then Puerto Rico in the Caribbean - again, I got to spend time with so many genuine, warm and wonderful people, and another amazing Personal Development Conference. Not to mention the night Kayak trip I took, to experience the bioluminescent bay in Fajardo. Such an amazing experience!
Gosh - even as I type this I think "WOW" - what a year!

So right now it's time for moments of deep gratitude and reflection.
Time also to ask :
"What did I do that worked?"
"What did I do that didn't work?"
" What can I do next year to make things even better, to impact & help even more people, and to continue to 'make a difference for others'.

So that's it ! Short & sweet J
I'm off now to spend a pleasant evening with my beloved, enjoy the magnificent tropical "wet season" that has arrived in earnest, and perhaps a glass or two of champagne.

Cheers until Next Year !

Are YOU doing what you love?

There is NO excuse for anyone in today’s society to spend their time doing something they don’t absolutely love!

As we throw out the last pieces of wrapping paper, start writing our thank you notes, and snack on left over pork, ham or turkey, and Christmas cake, it's time to reflect.

In those lazy wonderful days after Christmas, for many it's a time that we look back and think about "the year that was" and where we are headed for the coming year.

A time to ask ourselves questions.

Questions like: "Well, how did I go? Did I do all those things I wanted to do? Can I tick them off my list? Am I enjoying myself? Am I happy? Could I be making more of a difference ?
And the big one.....
"Am I doing what I love?"

That's all I'm gonna say :-)

(And it doesn't have to be at the end of another year that we ask ourselves these questions, personally I think it's something we should be assessing all year round, but NOW is still a great time to ask.........

It's time now to be silent, to think, to reflect, to ask questions..... to ponder.

Happy Days !

Gratitude at Christmas

53mm of rain in less than 2 hours this Christmas morning - absolute bliss!
I could not have asked for a better Christmas present!
The gorgeous 'garden of eden' that I live in, was parched & is now very happy :-)

May Christmas and this festive holiday season bring you happiness, peace, love,
joy & comfort - after all isn't that what God gave US ?

I am bubbling with bliss

The value of "masterminding" even with yourself!

I had cause today to just sit quietly and think about all that I have to be grateful for. And it was really quite wonderful to grab my felt pen and just let it run riot across my whiteboard. I was amazed at just how quickly it flowed & continued to flow with so many things thatI am grateful for.
So below is just a snippet:
My health
Relationships
Family
My dogs
A roof over my head
Health insurance
Money in the bank
Clothes that fit
Twittering birds outside
The smell of rain on dust
Photographs
My memory
The ability to dream
Love of my husband
Security I feel in my marriage
Inspiration I receive daily
My comfy bed
Food in the fridge
Sunshine
Ability to appreciate all of the above!
A walk with my dogs this morning
A call with a good friend
Lunch with my husband
Crows
My little red sportscar
My lush peaceful gardens
Green frogs
Silence

And the list just continues! How wonderful I feel so blessed and so very grateful.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You !

a PS! to my last post !

apologies! the correct link for those wanting to smile is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhLEiN0

Smiling is good - Laughing is GREAT !

I am sitting here with a grin from ear to ear (which is pretty much how I spend most of my days - smiling, laughing and having fun). But this morning's smile is even wider after I saw a little movie on youtube that just had me in a total state of joy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhLEiNO

And I realise that "happiness", and being in a constant state of "joy" is simply a choice! We can choose to wake up and be constantly in a happy state and no matter what happens during the day to try and knock us over, our happy state of being simple over rides all else. Isnt that just so cool?

Are you choosing to be happy, joyful, full of fun & laughter in every moment of your day? If not.... why not? Why not start right now ? It is just so simple - a random act of kindness shown to someone could be your first step.

Till next time.....
Cheers from Val

Thought for the Day!

"The world is a great mirror. It reflects back to you what you are. If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove loving and friendly and helpful to you. The world is what you are."
